Mt. Yangbew, La Trinidad, Benguet, Philippines

This mountain located in Tawang, La Trinidad, Benguet, Philippines has been blessed with different names by the locals and tourists. It was named Mt. Yangbao, Yambo, Yangbo, Jumbo, Jambo, and some other similar sounding names. But, just this year, 2016, the mountain has been given its official name: “Mt. Yangbew”.

The mountain is a grassland similar to that of Mt. Pulag (3rd Highest Mountain in the Philippines) that is the reason why it is sometimes called the “Little Pulag”. If you cannot climb a 2,922masl mountain, you can go here.

It caters a scenic 360 degrees view……..

I have been there during sunrise only. 🙂 However, I will bet that sunset is also very awesome in that place because you have a 360 view around the area which is very good for sunrise and sunset viewing. Just make sure that the weather is good for you to see the sun, if not, all you can see are clouds or fog around.

        1. Hello Faith! 🙂 When I went there, I didn’t have a guide, there is a clear trail din. All you have to do is pay for an environmental fee worth P20.00 or P30.00 if I remember it right. And you can ask the people along the way where is the entrance going up the mountain.

  1. Philippines never fails to surprise. Just when you thought you know all about the beautiful places, a hidden gem pops out. I have read so much about the exotic islands and beaches. Now I am reading about the lovely mountains which comes with a refreshing new perspective. Would like to hike to this mountain and enjoy the views.
